The geographical area assigned by regional air traffic control division to a flight service station for the purpose of search and rescue for VFR (visual flight rules) aircraft, issuance of NOTAMs (notices to airmen), international operation, pilot briefing, in-flight services, broadcast, emergency services, flight data processing, and aviation weather services.
